ROMANCE, SHE'S NOT MY WIFE

Mr. Mark woke up the following morning in his hotel room after his eating, dancing, and busty wedding ceremony with Mrs. Cynthia the Ghanaian woman whom he claimed came into his life like an angel.

The marriage at Anglican Church Ikeja Logos yesterday was successful but Mr mark woke up to meet a strange woman sleeping beside him on the bed.

Calm down let me Gist you on how it started.

Mr. Mark works with Oxford mobile company in the United States of America. He decided to come back to Nigeria to visit his parent who were celebrating their 50th anniversary and behold this incident occur.

The whole thing to me was like magic because everything began to work very fast and like never before.

Cynthia based in Lagos State, Nigeria, she is the daughter of Sir Afonaga, A man who came to Nigeria for a purpose as he used to say.

Mark and Cynthia became friends at the Spa the first time they meet.

They both exchange their contact and their love grows like a hibiscus flower.

No one dares come between them unless you want to be their enemy.

It was because of Cynthia that made Mark to spent 4 months in Nigeria instead of 2 months just to know her more and more.

Cynthia came to visit Mark one Sunday morning when Mark's parents had left for the church. I wonder why he did not follow his parent to that morning Mass but that is not my business anyway.

They both once again felt like husband and wife and Mark proposed to Cynthia, He promised to marry her, promised to buy her heaven and earth, promised to take her to America, and promised to love her forever.

Baby, you are so sweet.

You are my life

You are the air that I breathe

I can't live without you

I want to be the only person to love you

Mark made all these promises to a woman that he does not know.

Cynthia laughed and hugged him, she accepted his proposal and they both flaunt their feelings like morning birds flaunting their feathers on mango trees.

The following morning the marriage plan became bigger and bigger. Mark announced the breaking news to his parent that he has found his heart robbed.

wow!

This is great news, who is this person?

Where is she from?

Can we meet with her family?

Remember I told you that the whole thing became faster than Marks and Cynthia can ever comprehend.

Mark's parents made a plan immediately to visit Cynthia's family to discuss the proposed marriage.

You people are welcome, Cynthia's father said.

Please on what use is this meeting?

What is going on please someone should educate me.

At this point, Mark's parents were so disappointed. Mark, you did not do the right thing?

Haaaaa! Mark, you mean you did not inform them about our coming today? Marks's mother lamented.

Mum, Mum! It's fine, Sorry!

Mark stood up and addressed the people about the love his having for Cynthia and that he wants to marry her.

Cynthia's father laughed and muttered, Oh oh is it my daughter Cynthia?

Yes! Mark Replied!

Okay, Okay, there is no problem then. You people can go and come back tomorrow to enable me to meet with my people and prepare the bride price.

Alright, we appreciate it! Marks' father said.

They both greeted themselves and departed.

So you mean you want to marry that girl? Marks' father asked.

Yes daddy I love her and I want to marry her.

I asked you before and am going to ask you again, Apart from love do you know anything about her?

Her culture?

Her family?

Her secret?

Her likes and dislikes

Have you ever seen her natural face before?

How can a small girl like that paint things all over her face like a masquerade?

Marriage here in Nigeria is not all about love o but someone you are compatible with.

Son, Think twice.

Oh daddy, have known this girl naaaah!/

Daddy she's going to be the best wife for me and my children, your grandchildren.

They both laughed.

It is morning and Marks' family needs to meet with Cynthia's family for collection and probably payment of Cynthia's bride price.

Our inlaw, We are here o! Marks's father greeted.

Welcome, welcome our inlaw. Cynthia's father replied.

Our people used to say that a hen does not run unless something is running after it or it's running after something. Cynthia's father said.

We have deliberated on the matter you people proposed to us last time we met and we have come out with this unified list.

Handed over the list to Marks' father.

If you were opportune to see this list Oh my God!

Let me just brief you a little on what was on the list.

6 Cows

5 He goats to the father's family

3 She goats to the mother's family

2 iPhone pro max to Grandma

10 Suits

2 Cars

30 bags of rice

30 Bags of beans

40 Tuber of yam

Clothes for the mother

Shoes for everyone in the family

You must build us upstairs

bla bla bla bla bla on the list and lastly

100 million nairas to the family.

Hmmm! I wept!

Mark's father wanted to defend the list but mark said No No No No daddy, No daddy don't worry!

I will pay for it.

Can we give you people cash? just total everything and let me pay. Mark requested!

They did and he paid.

Mark's parents were so annoyed, so infuriated.

In their car, he jumped on the mark by words.

Are you okay Mark?

What the hell was that?

You mean you wasted all that money for a Lady?

Oh! I can't believe this.

Daddy, That's not much naaah.

Will you shut up? Marks' father became so angry.

Shut up and continue driving.

My husband has done it already so please let him be. Mark's mother said.

Like an evening wind that does not last, the traditional marriage came in and gone, followed by the court marriage and then white marriage.

The white marriage was on Saturday and Mark and his wife had already gotten their Visa to travel to America that Saturday evening after the celebration to enjoy themselves.

They have booked the best hotel in the United States to Lunch their honeymoon!

Yeah! It's lovely right?

Let's go back to our pretext.

They both slept together after a lot of dancing, eating, and celebrations just for Mark to wake up in the morning and find another woman on his bed, sleeping beside him.

Huh!

Maybe it was a dream! He ran into a bathroom and got his face washed with water and soap to enable him to see well.

Came back to the bedroom and still meet the same person.

Funny right?

He immediately filled her up and had already prepared bunches of questions for her.

Mark! Who are you?

Who are you?

Where are you from?

How did you come inside here?

Who are you?

Answer me!

He screamed!!

You are not my wife

You cannot be my wife

You are not my wife.

Cynthia!

What do you mean?

What's going on?

What is the meaning of who are you?

Am I not cythia?

Mark! Cynthia what?

You cannot be Cynthia that I got married to you cant.

If it's true that you are Cynthia the one I got married to, Please go in there and pack your things and vacate this room and, I don't ever want to see you again.

We never married okay?

Cynthia at this point was so confused.

She started asking herself a series of questions.

What is the matter?

Why is he behaving like this?

Now let me tell you what happened.

Was that Cynthia?

Yes, it was Cynthia, the one Mark got married to.

Cynthia till the day she got married to Mark, Mark has never seen her natural face before until that morning.

Cynthia has been wearing makeup from day 1 till her honeymoon night.

After a long night of dating, she couldn't wake up early to make over her face before her husband woke.

This small thing ends their marriage.

Makeup!

Makeup!!

Makeup!!!

How could you do this?

And why didn't you Mark looked into all this before proposing?

Am not saying that is bad to do makeup but take it easy naaaah!

You cant paint your face always and look like gods.

Take a break at the time and b natural for your lover.

This is a very short story to educate us on what to look after before getting into marriage.
